The Traps of Unified Korea
What’s the realistic expectations, playoffs or a cool 10 win season?
Anything less than a return trip to the ACC Title game would be a disappointing season.

So I won't say playoffs are the expectation.

But a chance to play for a spot in the playoffs is.

The goal this year is the ND and VT games every week, and no UNC/Pitt performances.

Just looking from reliability from the offense (QB position/depth from RB position) and better play down to down for the corners/safeties.

The depth issue at RB is beyond fixed.

QB play, no one can say. The word out of these scrimmages is being kept SUPER hush.

Triple post cause I'm a Palm Beach ass nikka and I don't give a fukk :blessed:

Coach brown was on the radio saying B. Jordan is beyond the truth. He took ALL first team snaps at TE already. And Choc went for 3tds in the scrimmage.

I think anyone who saw Jordan's HS tape knew he'd be incredible off the rip. Dude looking like Antonio Gates out there.

Lingard went from being a lock to being #2 RB to being 4th in the depth chart in a summer. Dudes levelling up, man.

And everyone saying 12 is much more consistent :francis:

heard the o-line is moving people around too. i don't mind lingard having to learn, in past years he'd be relied on to contribute right away...now he's going to get a chance to sit and learn how to pick up a blitz, that will only help him

@Remote new season thread family

Alternates this year. They're whatever. Probably wearing them against LSU it seems. Hopefully Adidas has us something crazy for a late season game again. The Miami Nights thing for VT was an incredible success. Ruined it a little wearing them again for the OB but Richt let the team vote and they wanted those.

LT

LB: Striker Derrick Smith, MLB Charles Perry, WILL Shawn Walker
DB: CB Gilbert Frierson, S Colvin Alford, S Gurvan Hall, CB Nigel Bethel

Only surprise is Joe Jackson with the third team, but he was wearing a brace so definitely seems to be more of an injury thing. But jesus christ this team is deep at D-end.

I know brehs were worried about losing Toolbox, Piano Man, Mac, and K-Dot but I've felt since spring we'd actually be better on the D-line this year. WIllis is a forgotten man at the school since losing a season because of his issues but word was always he was DOMINATING practice last year and nothing has changed. Ford and the grad transfer Tito sound like they're doing well as the second rotation, and the sheer potential of Nesta in the third grouping has me very, very hype on what this line will do. At the end, just forget about it. Only question mark is Joyner,

@Scottie Drippin is Joe injury serious or minor
Story keeps on changing. Now people are saying it might not be injury lated and instead be disciplinary. He has an elbow brace on so we'll see.

EDIT:

UPDATE: After practice Manny Diaz spoke with the media. Referring to Joe Jackson, he said the elbow brace was simply precautionary/protective. Said if the trainers say he’s good to go, then they will have him practice. On if they give older players a break or limit their reps for certain reasons (injury), Manny said nobody on the defense has the game figured out well enough to earn that treatment

realistically must win the division, make the conference championship game. and if they don't win it, at least be competitive. the depth is getting there, but still not there on defense imo, offensively the depth is where it needs to be.

looking at the schedule I think the toughest games will be LSU, Boston college, fsu, & vtech and only one of those is at home.

So Richt ran a scenario for scrimmage. First team v Scout team, starting with the scout team 17-0 up at halftime and receiving the ball to start the third.

1st team won 28-27.

Richt spotted the scout team a TD saying they scored at a scoop and score.

All they got was a FG :ohhh:

Our defense this season :whoo:

And Richt sounds very high on the offense.

the talent will be there for the D to thrive. Willis is probably more talented than both of last years DT's, he just hasnt put it together both mentally and physically. Bethel has big potential as an inside player, lots of agility. if we can get quality reps out of Nesta and Patchan stays healthy we can still grind out a 8-9 man ro on DL.

secondary has 3 SR leaders in it, with more corners to throw in the mix. Dean has a ton of ability, just has to toughen up in runs (looks like he added weight and strength). Redwine and JJ provide a ton of stability, when your safeties and inside LB's know where to be and how to direct other players thats huge
