I was kickin it with someone in the industry one night, and I made a similar type remark (there was a Bey video on the screen and I asked aloud why does she need to be with ugly ass Jay when she has enough bread to buy the world), and he had an interesting remark:
He said for music artists, actors, and overall very successful people its usually important to be with someone relatively at the same level (preferably in the same industry or an approximate). Artists in the middle of their careers are consumed by their career, and if they are with someone who is not on that same wavelength, the two parties start speaking a different language, and they cant relate to each other, and the relationship becomes naturally strained.
I thought about that when Nick made that jump to meek, and what he said rang out. It makes a lot of sense, logically. Its more than just about the money. Its common ground.

all hate aside....honestly the lyrics arent wack...his delivery needs some work but what hes saying isn't wack, the hook isnt bad either....with a proper mix and re-recording the vocals it could be a good track 
Yea he sounds more hurt than anything, its tough when you still care about somebody, but the dynamic of the relationship doesn't work for you anymore and you are forced to leave, a lot of mixed feelings it's not an easy transition
