and a couple of older classics. and i liked tommy lee and that gaza stuff kind of - but only because i could hear the US/mainstream influences in it. call that what you will but it is what it is.
anyway back to your post - couldn't it be argued that it all started with Vybez? didn't he mentor popcaan and kinda father that whole sound? (similar to say like yung LA and j-money fathering whats turned into the modern ATL sound). again im not up on dancehall like that so no slander if im wrong but isn't vybez the "don" here?
