It's not like Westbrook couldn't either. Westbrook missed 15 games last year in which the Thunder went 5-10, and they still had the same record as the Pelicans

Except they had a shot to make the playoffs at the end of the season with Westbrook playing and lost 7 of their last 11 games and Davis with an equally weak team managed to make it.

They had a four game lead on the Pelicans with 10 games to go. All they had to do was go .500 and they were in. If its a nikka that plays under control and avoids bad shots in that spot its a choke but since its Mr. Super Aggressive Alpha its all kinda bu...bu...buts or just blatantly ignoring it.
You do realize we were missing 2-3 starters right ? Started Adams and Kanter

And?

Bron was missing 2 starters in the Finals and he's 2-6.

No excuse for a guy people wanna hype like they do missing the playoffs in that circumstance period.

It's nice that you compare Westbrook to LeBron James means a lot

I love sabo but sometimes he makes poor decisions and can be really inefficient. I think he had like what 12 triple doubles but he was only like 4-8 so those didn't really translate to wins. They had a 4 game lead on New Orleans at 72 games knowing that N.O had the tie breaker and they blew it.

Was it the pg fault or the fact we were missing our best 3 defenders and starting our worst ones?

:mjlol: @ all this talk about "leaders" and other nonsensical intangibles. You know when athletes legit get to be called leaders? When all that "leadership" pays off with championship trophies & rings. Some people like to sh!t on championships & think it's all about the paycheck, but for the high-profile, front line players, those rings cement how you're remembered, and can dramatically alter your narrative in a very positive direction.

Who talks about the legendary leadership skills of Jordan, Magic, Jeter, Messier, & Lott without all of those men owning a hand full of rings (even 1 ring can legitimize talk of you being a leader). They'd still be great players, but that's it.

No one mentions Stockton or Malone as leaders, there's no stories of Dan Marino's awesome ability to lead, sometimes I wonder if Don Mattingly's Yankees career was a figment of my imagination and he was their captain for over a decade. The guy who succeeded him will never fade into obscurity just based on how much we'll hear about Jeter's intangibles virtually forever. The main difference being one has accumulated jewelry over his career while the other accumulated Gold Gloves with minimal team success.

Until you're hoisting that trophy with the battle scars to show for it, you simply haven't led a damn thing, regardless of how fair or unfair that assessment may be. Let KD & Sabo do their thing and take it from there, because if that team underachieves under the tenure of that duo, not one person will be debating a damn thing about who "lead" them to nowhere.
