I think we all got so caught up in the hype of it all. like damn, this nikka young thug really just cloned waynes entire format and ran with it.... but more incredible he was allowed to run with it because of the demographic and age range he targeted. I now believe (due to his IG videos in relation to speaking on the beef and how he just easily switched it up from Carter 6 to Barter 6.) he never intended to use "The Carter 6" as the title. I think he only named it that to dangle out the cheese.
We as rap fans ate it up, wayne ate it up. After wayne ran on his "fukk Cash Money" thing. it bought more attention to Young Thug and more importantly his new project (Barter 6). If Thug had a lawyer (which I'm sure he does) his lawyer would've hipped him to not naming it the Carter 6 due to possible copyright infringement. Even if he didn't have a lawyer, I doubt Baby would've let him run with it because he would've ultimately ended up owing more money to Wayne. Birdman not dumb, he may be a cut-throat businessman but being dumb never seemed like his game. They (Thug and Birdman) banked on the fact that Lil Wayne was so in his emotions and acting out of anger that he would bite and give free publicity to Thug and his Barter 6 tape. Wayne bit, Thug changed the name (by droping 1 letter lol) and all played out in favor of Thug.
