Two wrongs doesn't make a right.
What's worse is that he talks about the same shyt as Ross, promotes shooting up clubs, murdering fellow brothers and shyt like that. He does nothing positive at all, Ross generates and spends money at least which is good for the economy and helps other young black brothers do the same thing.

Of course both make great music as well.

And lol @ these bird ass nikkas like diggy38 and OP getting mad cause we don't see strong correlation between being a rapper and being intelligent. For all I know Plies is 100 times smarter than Saigon. But he does not feel the need to try and flex everything he knows(or in saigons case think he knows) to prove to dumb nikkas that he knows something.

Bravo!!

So according to SAIGON the "ILLUMINATI" is responsible for forcing the REV. AL SHARPTON to get a PERM IN HIS HEAD????

:laff:

"They;d basically try to take your credibility away and make you look like a joke. That's what they do to people like Al Sharpton. Look at him. He has a perm, he's fat, etc"

:smugdraper:

wtf?!?!...Al Sharpton always said that James Brown always admired him and saw him as his protege from an activist standpoint...and wanted him to get a perm cause he also looked at him as like a "son"

i swear SMART DUMB NICCAS like SAIGON will be the DEATH OF US ALL :youngsabo:

Im pretty sure he meant it like "Look at him, he's fat, has a perm"

as in what THEY say to belittle him or make him a joke breh.

My thing is...I used to be in the same boat as a couple people in this thread...I thought he was confused and a hypocrite so I ignored his interviews like this and looked at him like a joke tbh

Nowadays though I think shyt is at such a point of desperation where anyone speaking just needs to be respected and stood behind for doing that, because no one else is in Hip Hop (on a major level). What satisfaction do you get out of pointing out his hypocrisy when you look past the truth he's speaking?

The guy isn't a "smart dumb nikka", a lot of the shyt he was saying was ingrained in some kind of truth, I'm not about to devalue everything he said because of one sentence, or because of his catalog even. He was always on some duality shyt, it's not like he didn't step in from day one talking about some "real shyt". I say that to say this isn't some last ditch marketing plan...you don't think there was a reason he was shelved for so long?

And again...he has some hypocritical messages, but the past couple interviews he's been on he was talking about messages to the youth...how a lot of these guys are marketing to the youth with catchy hooks and beats and slogans but it's bullshyt....you can't really say the gritty/ashy knuckle shyt Saigon has released was trying to appeal to anyone but grown ass men, so it's not the same thing.

He had a couple slip ups to try to get on but all in all I'm happy someone is speaking at all. People are so quick to devalue someone while they sit on their ass, it's just a further sign of how we probably have no chance. You think if he picked up steam and support and became as visible as say 2Chainz he would do a 180 from all this? I don't.

I feel that, I agree to an extent. And that's dope about the program...

We definitely need to stop looking for entertainers to be the end all as far as who to look up to but we also shouldn't let them off the hook for essentially being counterproductive to what you for instance are trying to do.

We may not need Saigon but for instance the Civil Rights movement definitely had a musical backdrop...entertainers who were willing to speak up with the activists. Not to put him on that level in any manner, but I think you get what I'm trying to say.

Not all kids worship rappers but a lot do...so if what they say is counterproductive we should definitely look for and support artists to combat those messages

This interview is just too real for the majority of rap fans.

Keep bopping your head in your car to fake fairy tales about polluting the population with drugs that just destroy.

If a rapper talked about strictly pushing marijuana, magic mushrooms or dabbling into healing herbs... Then..I'm all in

Even though he sounds silly in backtracking his statements. The amount of replies of this thread further proves his point

There was almost a 10 page thread where he talked about Punching Ross and 2 Chainz in the face but yet he's talking about real shyt here and its barely 2 pages.

Saigon has been doing indepth interviews since 2003 and ever since I said he one of the best Hip Hop interviewers Hip Hop has ever seen. I always wondered why none of his interviews ever got any proper light. Good to see Sai getting light aimed at his interviews in 2012.

:umad:

Saigon reminds me of this former co worker of mine who when he doesn't get his way or they (company) fault him for doing some bullshyt he screams "he's a target" ..or "thier after me"....

Last week he got transferred to another department and he's going around telling people "the Boss felt THREATNED by level of expertise"

:jawalrus: when in reality, the guy just doesn't like following company policy and hates taking orders from younger guys ...

Guys like that love using the "conspiracy" angle as an excuse to not hold themselves ACCOUNTABLE for the bad choices they make in life

i know cause i was like that when i was younger when i flunking classes at this one college i was quick to blame the campus environment, the administration and anybody or any circumstance i could point the finger at...

when in reality ....I JUST WASN'T APPLYING MYSELF....I WASN'T FOCUSED.......I was more concerned with chasing GIRLS and HANGING WITH my homeboys then .....

same thing with SAIGON...

ATLANTIC RECORDS HAS A BUSINESS MODEL THAT HE JUST DIDN'T WANT TO FIT INTO...which was simply based on making a balanced album of SAIGON'S TRADITIONAL STREET MATERIAL along with some RADIO/CLUB FRIENDLY hits"

and he knew that....:umad:

the major label is out to make money ...so he can talk all this BREAD AND CIRCUS shyt all he wants.....

but at the end of the day SEX and VIOLENCE does sell.....i don't think somebody is FORCE FEEDING the masses to feed off of this, when at the same time that's what the audience demands...

:whoa: no evil force MADE me purchase the CALL OF DUTY video game or download the latest PINKY skin flick....

it's about choices......and people should be allowed to choose or purchase what the fukk they want...

that's the joys of living in a free market....
