Saying that though, on that M.A.R.S joint I thought Saigon had the best verse.
And on that point, Chuck D was giving props to Mega's music, AZ, J Love.
Skillwise...
Mega is a great writer, he has a shaky flow, and he stays always sticks in this lane delivery and flow wise. Conceptually he is tight but he sticks to a tried and true straightforward approach.
Saigon is a good writer, he has a solid flow, he varies up his delivery and flow across different songs. Conceptually he has a big variety, he main focus is 'teach the truth to the youth', but he has wordplay songs, lyrical excersize songs, party songs etc.
I dont know how you can say skillwise mega is on top, his flow is shaky dog.

At one point these were probably my 2 fav acts aside from legends. Cormega wins because Sai imploded and has gotten embarrassing.
I agree that Mega's career has been MUCH better than Sai's. Mega's album output and quality material all around, puts him above Sai but I feel prime Sai was a better MC than Cormega at any point. N!ggas just can't forget that Mega had a horrible time with his flow for a good portion of his career. And let's also not forget that certain hip hop circles looked at Sai as the next hip hop saviour. He was that good at one point. Social awareness, street oriented rap, nice flow, some charisma. Now I look at Sai as a has been, that has been doing and saying some clownish sh!t for WAY too long. And he doesn't rap as good as he used to either.

no one has cared about the source in years. anytime threads/polls pop up about best albums since the 2000's realness and true meaning get mentioned. i've never seen a single saigon album mentioned, but i did think saigon's debut was nice. just wasn't fukking with megas.

On the intro to Abadnon Nation in 2005 Jay Z is quoted as saying the following have a shot at the throne while Jay Z was retired: Lil Wayne (which was on point) TI( he was on point again) Fab and Saigon.....Never once did he say Mega had a shot. And Mega was tip riding Jay during that Nas/Jay beef.

Cool man, I agree Saigon had a shot at being a big time player, I'm a fan. The Atlantic deal kind of held him back, he was and is very talented. Mega didn't have a deal at that time of that magnitude to do that though.
Noticed that occasionally and haven't been to keen on that too much. Mega is spittin raw street shyt/conscious/thought provoking shyt. I prefer the sound of his music/style currently to Sai's.
Mega's winning so far, I wasn't sure who people would go with on this one.
Also lets not forget how Mega let his fans down by not being visible with the times. Dude was the worst when it came to making music videos. Yet when Hip Hop DVD's were the in thing Sai gave the fans visuals. When Youtube became the in thing Sai gave us more visuals. Mega never took advantage of any of these outlets.

Sai needs a rebound album badly. Hopefully he's realized that those generic alt cheese rock beats ala Lupe and poorly crooned hooks arent doing him any favors and gets back in Yardfather mode.
