Also, @KevJ Kaepernick only had one poor season and that was last year and even then it was inconsistent. He still had a couple games where he threw over 300 yards. Plus, he was dealing with injuries and ended up having the surgery.

Since 2009 Blaine Gabbert has the worst QBR of any QB wit at least 25 starts. He should not be starting over Kaep at all but Chip said it's because Kaep missed most of training camp. We'll see how that plays out. Uh the 49ers are also tanking, they've made no secret about that.
