49ers coach Chip Kelly said the move to Blaine Gabbert at QB was intended to spark the offense in the fourth quarter and nothing more. Asked if he intended to go back to Colin Kaepernick next week against the Jets, Kelly said that's not something that's even been discussed yet.

49ers QB Colin Kaepernick said he was "surprised" that he got pulled for Blaine Gabbert in the fourth quarter. Kaepernick said he didn't feel it was his place to put up a fight when QB coach Ryan Day informed him of the change. He offered a similar answer when asked if he believed he will be the starter moving forward.

Nah he played like shyt today. Missed a bunch of throws, held onto the ball. He deserved to get benched

gabbert has done the same, no benching, and he's played no where near as good as kaep has.....that's my issue with this...

seriously, it's not a coincidence this happens after he announces he gonna be a free agent....after he said that, the 9ers saw the writing on the wall: he either was gonna leave or they were gonna have to really pay up to keep him...so to not have to do that, they finna fukk up his market value to keep him for the low...the nfl is truly a dirty, fukked up business, and people ignore that side of it for the entertainment value the games bring...

i know some might say: what about the protest affecting his value?....he was playing well with lil talent around him, that's all teams would care about...teams would be willing to put up with the protest if it means they got victories....

Nikka, he threw 5 times. Completed 1. Missed on 2 where the other 2 were tight coverage and broken up. All this in a blizzard BTW. The backup came in and completed 4 of 11 and sacked in the endzone. :francis:

That would only make sense if Gabbert had not played previously. Offense has been playing well for the last little while.

true, but they did it today...chip even said the words 'tried to give the team a spark'....just wouldnt surprise me if that same thought process continued...
