The two teams are in totally different places this is a stupid comp
The real comparison is Presti getting praise while literally following the game plan Hinkie was crucified, vilified, and blacklisted for

Good

Hinkie was arrogant in his approach. Trading people all willy nilly (like Morey). Not a good people person. At least Presti works with a guy before shipping him off (which he doesn’t have to) but even then, he still pulls a finesse job on the trade partner. Hinkie isn’t blacklisted. No one wants him in charge of their front office. I think he consults for a team but that’s as close as some want him.

No one criticized Ainge for hoarding picks when he first started, as Presti is doing.

The criticism started when he refused to trade for big-time players because he wanted to keep the picks. Different circumstances, right now.

If presti is turning down a trade for someone like Luka in three years, we can have this conversation.

the tanking they did this year was ridiculous. i'm still amazed that it was just allowed to happen.

presti was arrogant too.

they deactivated Al Horford for literally no reason other than to lose more games and the league just looked the other way :gucci:

Is it time to admit Sam Presti is a bad GM that is only getting by because he was lucky enough to draft KD,Russ and harden? Because since the harden trade okc has not done shyt but trade away their mvps for draft picks :russ:

He's one of the best gms. Has a cheap owner, won't ever sign big name free agents in okc yet minus a few years has always put out a roster that can compete.

This is not a similar situation to Boston at all. The Celtics have been in contention multiple times with a team ready to take the next step, and nothing has happened. Not to mention that they are willing to spend money.

The Thunder have not really been in contention recently, and when your teams owner is not willing to spend money, there is only so much you can do.:manny:.

Rare good post from you

Nah, when the owner decided not to be cheap was after losing KD

They were the leaders in paying the luxury tax when they had PG
