I'm listening to this song . . I hear the synth and I stop and think for a second, "Why does this sound so familiar

It took me a few minutes to think about it - which I did do before searching

I came to the conclusion that the synth is from Rod Stewart's "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy"

(listen here)

Then I check the credit and it's from

René & Angela "I Love You More"

Rod Stewart's song was released in 1978, and "I Love You More" was released in 1981 . . . so the question is . . was "I Love You More" influenced by "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy"
