I definitely get that, bro.

I f*ck with Spotify, but usually only for the non-essentials that I already have on my phone. Or if I want to peep something I haven't heard yet. It's good for that. I still roll around with the million files that I kept on mad hard drives and all that. There's also a lot of music that I have that'll never hit the DSP's too. So I've just been keeping all these files forever. I was doing that on iPods before I just started throwing everything on my phone.

Those blogs are the sh*t! I find random ones all the time. Sometimes from other countries in other languages, but they still have mad heat! HAHA! I'm taking everything!
Imma have to get back into using old MP3 players (e.g. ipods like u mentioned) now. cus shyt

if artist are getting their samples pulled with them music ID technologies, it could only mean one thing, producers are gonna start having to find ways to get creative again and make the samples unrecognizable. It's been getting to a point where producers of today been lazy with the sampling so now new techniques are gonna develop, in a way, this could probably resurrect hip hop (trying to look at it from a positive light) :hubie:

But overall, yeah, this some bull, the way labels have flipped it and promoting it as "hey guys, we got your favorite sampling site to be officially on spotify, come and be part of the fun" when the ulterior motive is to punish the starving artist on some "AH HA, GOT YA B*TCH!" :sadcam:

Glad I quitted Spotify due to allowing ICE Recruitment Ads:yeshrug:

IIRC they also invest in arms industries that are involved in the colonization/apartheid/genocide in Gaza

Bandcamp might end up being the last place you can buy underground rap besides the artist's official websites. But even that site may not be safe in the long term, given I've seen people have some pretty ugly complaints about new ownership/management there.

Damn what are those complaints :lupe:

Bandcamp lost their integrity to me once they started pushing A.I. artists and labels...it's only a matter of time before they're fully compromised.

Sucks, Bandcamp is basically the only streaming service I use (unless you count YT as a streaming service). How does one even know that it's an AI artist? I'm just listening to all kinds of random recommended albums.

Think it was @TheDarceKnight I seen mention that Alchemist pays WhoSampled to not post his samples. I wonder if this will effect that.

I visited Genius for the first time in ages recently and noticed they list song samples on lyrics pages now. I'll never forget that interview Combat Jack did with the creators of that site, around the time it first started to get press and go viral. It was so obvious they didn't know shyt about hip hop. And now all these white driven avenues are being used to clamp down lol.

Mach Hommy was right all along lol.
