fuk that site and the kkkrakers who run it. They stole from us for years. I'm deep in the crates and I, along with many others, would post sample findings on the site the-breaks.com. The creators of whosampled would come to our forum, steal our shyt and post it on their site as if they found the samples. I found a lot of shyt. I still have my login over there and a lot of things I discovered no one knew but the beatmakers themselves. I stopped posting there and told them why. I still have a some things that's not on whosampled and no one knows but Primo and I aint telling cuz he aint telling.

We were talking about something like this a few weeks ago. The vast majority of samples on major label releases - be it rap, pop, country, whatever - is cleared. No issues there. But most underground rap shyt has uncleared samples. The $$$ generated from underground rap isn't enough for most artists to pursue lawsuits, because you'll end up spending more on legal representation than whatever $ you'd get from uncleared samples on a Roc Marci or Curren$y album.

But imagine Spotify, now that it has this partnership, reaching out to sampled artists and offering to pay legal in order to pursue legal action and ultimately remove underground rap from the platform. Maybe they offer higher stream payments to the original artists - many of whom make obscure or unpopular music anyway - in order to help them collect their legal cash.

Bandcamp might end up being the last place you can buy underground rap besides the artist's official websites. But even that site may not be safe in the long term, given I've seen people have some pretty ugly complaints about new ownership/management there.

You shouldn't have been posting samples publicly in the first place. People needing bragging rights on the internet is part of the reason we're here now. Doing lawyer's and music exec's jobs for them.

Wanna hear that precise moment of that sample? ...gotta have premium spotify, otherwise you'll hear a random 30 second clip of the song, with a maximum of 1 song per day
