With the recent win for Marvin Gaye's family and a 2nd law suit possibly coming from the Gaye family over another sample of their father's work, I think we are about to see an uptick in sample clearance battles.
I just seen a thread saying that Mac Miller was targeted for sample usage as well. so what does this mean? in my view it means 1 of 2 thing,
1. Sampling about to return to it's underground origins where producers start chopping sample more to make them sound completely different than their original piece.
2. Music about to either be extremely original or extremely sucky now.
