She scanned the serial number and it didn't show up anything weird. Target sold the MCC skus, so no harm no foul.
She also opened up the damn thing (I didn't even open it yet) to validate the serial number on the box with the console
And they are not taking a loss. I worked as a customer service and inventory control manager at a distribution center warehouse. When a retail item is returned back to the manufacturer, the retailer gets a credit in the amount of the item. We used to get return trailers all the time and when I contacted the manufacturere/company, the retailer got a credit on their account in the amount of the item returned.
Plus Target made 50 bucks off me.
Don't move the goalposts. It's not my primary TV or even my bedroom TV. It's for my guestroom to replace my OG Westinghouse from '05.

No, retailers only make like 15 bucks per console. It's not "much less". The money is in the accessories. Margins are very thin with retailers on consoles.
And please kill the sympathy for these retailers and corporations. Like they give a shyt about your ass with the way they mark shyt up 10X the price that they pay for shyt inside the stores.
I have sympathy for the workers and consumers that will ultimately have to eat this kind of loss

So I got the email Wednesday about the XB being ready for pick up. Thing is, the email said that both my tv and xb were ready.
Get to the store and the girl goes to the back to get my stuff. She comes out with an xbox and a tv
I was expecting her to notice something in the computer about me already having a tv but everything went as normal So I take stuff and as I'm walking out the dude at the door checks my receipt and remarks that he remembers me from Sunday
I was waiting for him to say something about me taking a tv with me then too

I'm willing to bet when that gets returned Microsoft will know return fraud was pulled and probably deny the refund. They have to have a database of what console was sent to which retailer. I used to work retail in my younger days. Cop and swaps got so complicated the common employee couldn't even catch them. All you used to need was a blow dryer to heat the sticker with the serial. Xbox 360s were common. People would open the console and swap the guts and heat the tamper seal and switch them. Hell you could order the tamper seals on eBay at one point.
Not saying I feel bad for Target but I'm pretty sure he robbed them on that PS4.
