I was hoping to see a sale on the 60in joint but no luck yet. Copped the 55 joint to replace my Sony bravia 60in 1080P.

I wouldn't mind having this TV but I've got a 55JS9000 from last year I couldn't get rid of as well as a 55W900A and 55W950B. Nobody is gonna give me anything reasonable for these sets so I'm stuck.

How is the sound? I might cop a soundbar after reading mixed reviews

I have it hooked to an a/v receiver, I only made sure the tv speakers worked when I first set it up then I turned them off. I wouldn't think twice about getting a soundbar at minimum. TV speakers are usually horrible.

So just how good is the quality when watching/playing stuff that's not 4k content? I've seen how clear the 4k displays look at Best Buy but I figure they're running a 4k demo loop to optimize the display.

I've watched quite a few standard blu-rays, they look great, upscaling is really nice. Even DVD looks good. Streaming content from Netflix has good picture quality as long as you have a fast connection, YouTube looks great on 720, 1080, and 4K content. Broadcast tv looks horrible if it is not an HD channels. The set itself is great, and has a easy to use interface, remote is very simplistic. It uses the One Connect Box which is a small a/v connection box with your HDMI, USB, optical, and antenna connections, this has a special cord that connects to the tv, so you can put the box out of sight.

I liked the 65" so much I ended up buying the 49" for the bedroom. You really can't go wrong with it.

Cool. One more question..I have a Samsung smart tv right now and it has that smarthub OS shyt that pops up when you turn the tv on. does this one have that? cause its annoying having the apps and shyt on the side and you have to click to make the screen full size.

You coppin' a 65in TV and don't have a sound system?

:patrice:

Copping the 55 instead of 65, Im upgrading my Sony reciever to the DN1070 to take advantage of the latest 4k Video/HDR. And My sony Ct260 soundbar is flabby and sick compared to the Sharp/Vizio one's i seen.

i have the 65in , best tv I ever had. it's a good deal for the money, pretty much the best "affordable" tv that you can buy right now.

I used rtings a lot when i was researching which tv to buy a couple months ago: http://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/samsung/ks8000?uxtv=1951

The sound quality is inconsistent depending on input. i don't have a soundbar as of yet but that shyt is increasingly becoming a priority for black friday.
Content from streaming (PSVUE, tv apps like youtube/amazon) are fine but not spectacular. Sound from my comcast box is straight trash and we have to turn it up to 60. I'm hoping that feeding everything to the soundbar fixes this

the better the content the better the picture. Blu rays and HD content from amazon and youtube looks AMAZING. content streaming thru psvue is just ok. i read that they display 720p. I find that hard to believe since it's 2016 but if it's true that would explain
i'm lowkey thinking about just taking the L on cost and getting Fios for their better quality stream
