Bexar County Jail
Man accused of beating ex's sleeping boyfriend, causing skull damage, 'deformities'
San Antonio —
A 20-year-old San Antonio man was arrested Tuesday after he allegedly stormed into the far West Side residence of his ex-girlfriend and assaulted her new boyfriend as he slept, causing internal bleeding in his skull and possible permanent eye damage.
Vincent Rojas now faces a charge of aggravated assault causing severe bodily injury, a second-degree felony. He remains in the Bexar County Jail.
Bexar County deputies said Rojas entered the residence in the 11000 block of Bald Mountain Drive on May 21 and attacked the woman's new boyfriend, who was asleep at the time. The victim did not have time to react, and the assault only stopped when another man pulled Rojas off the victim, deputies said.
Rojas fled, and when the woman turned on the lights in the room, "there was a large amount of blood all over the room, and she could see [the victim] was severely injured," the affidavit states.
The woman brought the victim to Westover Hills Emergency Room, but due to the extent of his injuries, he was transported to San Antonio Medical Center for further evaluation.
Deputies said the victim suffered from bleeding inside his skull, possibly permanent injury to his eye, "deformities" to both arms and bruising to his back.
Rojas was arrested a little over a week after the alleged attack.
