you cannot compare whats going on in chicago with san bernadino, whats going on in chicago is abysmal.................... a town with 2 people if one is murdered that means that there is a 50% murder rate:camby:
Have you ever been to San Bernardino?....have you heard of all the crazy shyt that has been happening out there for years?....

Chicago may be getting all the headlines about the murder rate with more than 500 already this year, but the per capita rate pales to that of San Bernardino, California.

So far this year, there have been 47 homicides (plus three people killed by police) in the Southern California community, which was rocked in December by the terror attack at the Inland Regional Center that left 14 dead. Fewer than 40 percent of the homicides have been solved.

The Los Angeles Times reports if the pace continues, San Bernardino will end the year with a homicide rate of 31 per 100,000 residents. That compares to 18 per 100,000 in Chicago last year and seven per 100,000 in Los Angeles.

“Our city right now is bad,” Aguadia Brown, 27, told the Times. “It’s like everyone is on edge, and nobody really knows how we’re going to fix this.”

The Times said half of those killed have been black even though African-Americans make up only 15 percent of the population.

It's bad out there bruh....

I think people need to keep this in perspective.

Chicago has a population of about 2.71 million vs San Bernardinos population of 213,000. That means that terror attack last year was equal to ~ 178 Chicago killings.

When you also take in account the tiny area that most of Chicagos murders happen the stats for Chicago are even more stark.

Imo we should view these stats by neighborhood not by city.

there is about 800k people in south side chicago even a conservative figure of 400 people murdered in Southsise Chicago would make the murder rate significantly higher.....those black folk in Chicago were pushed to these hoods and left to rot, kids have no aspirations other than to gangbang because there is no hope with a system built to keep them where they are at

I've posted proof bruh....I don't speak hypothetically.....in SB the folk out there moved out that way from LA cause it was cheaper back in the day...but every gang affiliated family also did the same....it's not the same as Chicago but very similar....

I grew up in the IE. Not surprised about San Bernardino. My folks still live there but west of the 215 near Colton. Like others have said already, San Bernardino has always been grimey. I know where all the hood spots at. I currently live in SE DC and it looks much nicer than hood San Bernardino. Some 3rd World looking spots there.

See!!! Folks LOVE to throw Chicago under the bus when there are other places just as dangerous. Now that's not me saying its parts of chicago I'm not scared to go in but it's places just as bad as here. We just get the bad rap

Chicago is always in the news because it's President Obama's hometown.
Chicago is far more dangerous than San Bernadino.
They've only had 49 murders this year.
Their "murder rate" in comparison with the population of a whole is higher, because Chicago has 2.7M people.
The gun violence and murder rate in Chicago, if adjusted for neighborhood, income, or race, would show a vastly higher murder rate.
There are neighborhoods of less than 30,000 on the West and South Sides with 100+ killings.
There are swathes of the city with little to no gun violence.

There are over 100 cities in the US more dangerous than Chicago.
Again, this is shaky language.
"Dangerous" isn't a real metric.
There are two sections of Chicago where the majority of the violent crime is, they also contain less than 1/4 of the population.
This is more akin to lazy statistics manipulation than hardcore data.
Its just like here in Cleveland, if you took a few sections of the city, where violent crime most occurs, we'd top quite a few charts, but if you take the entire metropolitan population in as a whole, and measure crime that way, Cleveland seems a lot safer.
Meanwhile, in my two mile radius, there have been seven killings since April.

Merced ia getting more scandalous by the day.

I stopped through there for 2 hours and my vehicle got broken into and stole a $350 Northface rolling suitcase.

Pigs never showed after an hour.
