The thing though it bring $100 million dollars for a weekend. That kind of revenue is insane.

The Chargers may bring in more to the city than that over the course of the year, but it's cost much more for maintenance and resources that same year. Not just for the stadium, but services like medical, security, etc. It's almost much more of a liability since there can be incidents every weekend. There's a lot more upkeep.

It's much more stress free worrying about one mega-weekend than it is moderate 10 weekends (if play-offs) weekends of sporting events, especially when you consider how much that one weekend brings.

Put it simply:

Would you want a job where you work very hard once a year for the same grand total pay you'll get working moderately hard 10-12 times per year?

Comic-Con is bigger than 75% of the league really

The money they earn from people who come for the event is crazy and they don't allow that much press from what I've heard

Chargers are a C rate franchise that would do better somewhere else

If I was Jacksonville, Detroit, Tampa Bay (maybe), any team in the AFC East not New England, Washington, Oakland, fukk Seattle, Cleveland x10000090000000000000000000000000, I'd pick Comic Con over my franchise going forward

shyt, if Philip "run the play clock down on every play even when we're losing" Rivers was my team's QB, I wouldn't give a phuck either. Dude is easily the least entertaining QB; every time I see him play I understand why people bytch that the NFL is slow/boring

Damn @dtownreppin214 the NFL isnt shyt compared to International Soccer. International Soccer dwarfs the NFL's popularity. Southern California doesnt want these NFL clowns in their neck of the woods

....and San Diego isn't a sports town to begin with.

They let the Clippers leave, bout to let the Chargers leave, NEVER really support the Padres unless they're winning... :scust:

As much as I love NFL.. Comic-con is a HUGE world-wide tourism draw.

130k+ every year in attendance, not to mention the others that go to SD just for everything else going on during that time.

That raggedy ass Sports Arena is still standing. There is not one suitable indoor arena in the whole damn city (except for Viejas Arena on SDSU's campus, which only holds about 12,500 people).

In all honesty, San Diego is too good of a place to live to have be worried about a sports team......There's plenty to do without thinking about the Chargers. Too many beautiful women :wow:....
