I dont think its entirely/directly political but its what happens when a region hits a breaking point. We stayed at an Airbhb but Golden Gate Park in Summer 2019. I think the Finals were actually in progress. I saw the whole place as unattainable even then but still aspirational, especially as a guy trying to break into tech.

Theres gotta be a fukk ton of people who've been priced out but probably also literally cannot afford to leave. Everything I hear about the Bay screams as desperation. Its a shame because that city has an IMPOSSIBLE character for being just 40 square miles.

Yeah, most of what’s happening is due to people being priced out. It’s happening in every city. That’s why affordable housing has to be a campaign issue this year, but hasn’t been mentioned that much outside of the first time home buyers initiative.

Bay Area is one of my favorite areas to have visited. Oakland is west coast Harlem and just vibrant people and San Francisco is such a charming and vibrant city. It’s a shame how both areas are being fukked over.
