You have to prosecute property crimes to appease business owners.

Here in Seattle the jails don't want to take in shoplifters..and business owners are upset because they keep getting hit up.

Target downtown it's highly likely they'll leave as soon as there lease is up.

We don't want our jails filled with petty criminals but something has to give.

I believe giving people the ability to provide for themselves is a step up.

All this trash and you telling me you can't hire day labor for the task?

Many homeless and drug users need jobs but without a full time commitment. More day labor type spots I believe would help but overall this is a bigger issue that would take a generation to fix.

Above the fray.
Their has to be a middle ground. Kamala was too aggressive. Boudin was too relaxed. Its ok to say both were bad at their job.
What you're saying makes too much sense for people who are married to a political or social ideology.
They will ignore the facts on the ground and keep pushing/repeating whatever line somebody told them to push.

San Francisco kicked out its progressive DA…and violent crime went up

It’s been over a year since San Francisco ousted progressive District Attorney Chesa Boudin over crime concerns. So what has happened since? Spoiler Alert: Violent crime is rising. Mehdi breaks down what the backlash against progressive DA’s, including Boudin, is really about.Aug. 17, 2023

San Francisco is not really a liberal city anymore. Quiet as kept. The tech bros have power out there and a lot of them are maga/right wing types. It’s turning into a bigger San Diego as far as politically leaning right
42% of San Diego are democrats. I don't think you can categorize that as politically leaning right. Additionally San Diego last time I checked has been trending more and more Democrat.

If 58% of San Diego voters are republican, that means that it leans right. The fact that you’re arguing statistical facts is beyond me.

Seems like Boudin wasn't all that relaxed after all and the facts say that the recall was BS. :yeshrug:

Where are you getting that 58% of San Diego voters are Republican?

“San Diego County has become continuously more Democratic over the years, according to a review of registration data, with more than a dozen Republican-dominated ZIP codes switching to Democratic-majority since 2018.

More than 1.9 million people are registered to vote countywide, up nearly 2 percent from this same time two years ago, the registrar of voters reports.

Of that total, nearly 42 percent, some 794,000 people, are registered as Democrats. About 27 percent are Republican, and one in four voters identify with no political party.”
