it must be because the warriors have struggled to fill seats in oakland
and the real reason to moving the warriors to SF has less to do with attracting potential free agents to move to and live in a world class city (as opposed to oakland), and more to do with getting some yuppie facebook software engineer in the seats right?
it has less to do with the warriors using the new arena for concerts and events (that would be more attractive for events/organizers/conventions) than the oakland coliseum
and more to do with "tech money"
such a generic blanket term and statement, but hey what do i know right i just live here :heh:

:mjpls:
A's in first place in AL west nobody goes
Giants in 2nd place in NL west, packed every night

china basin > the 5 mile radius surrounding oakland coliseum

Uh, do people forget that the warriors started off playing in SF.

The warriors want to make more money, if they move it it sf, it will be better for the fans
The NBA wasn't sh*t when they played in SF. But look we all know the Warriors will move to SF for bigger and brighter pastures in the near future.. I'm just questioning the timing of "lets name the team now during the playoffs". Thats crazy imo. And that move is gonna price out alot of blue collar fans.. the ones that supported that team since day one

exactly
look what it did for the Giants. they're swimming in cash, the team could suck for the next 5 years and shyt will still be packed
meanwhile the A's have won the AL West title 2 years in a row and they can barely get 15,000 fans in that old shyt ass stadium.
SF> Oakland, i doubt any of the warriors players actually live IN oakland, i know steph and david lee live in downtown SF already. it makes sense. nobody wants to live in or play in oakland.
i dont care either way if they change the name to SF warriors, but i think it would alienate some of the inferiority complex having types in the east bay.

So it's about the money, but not about the money :deadmanny:

Lol @ acting like the players are required to live in the city limits. Moving it across the bay will do NOTHING towards attracting free
agents.

Exactly. The giants moving to AT&T on the Embarcadero was a smart move business wise because we all know that Candlestick is dead in the middle of the hood (double rock projects/ hunter point / bay view )

So all those fans (especially white fans) would not go to any bars or resteraunts near the stick.

The same thing with the 9ers

True

We all know a new arena in SF will be piff. expensive piff but piff nevertheless. There's nothing around the Coliseum. Everybody wants the restaurants and bars across the street to hang out at before and after the game. Its crazy that Oakland might be losing three teams though in the near future. There's nothing in Downtown/Lake Merritt area to get something going? :why:

uh, you said it's about the "tech money" everyone who complains or mentions "tech money" means they're pandering to yuppies. and you certainly weren't referring to the many different benefits not related to attracting tech nerds in SF to the stadium so :camby:

and :heh: @ thinking a brand new arena will do nothing to attract free agents. not to mention one u could literally get to in 5 minutes by walking.
oakland <<< San Jose <<<< SF

It will generate more revenue in terms of more sell out games, access to sports bars, resteraunts, more casual fans spending money

the new arena will be a 5 min walk from ATT Park :banderas:
u could literally spend ur whole day there watching a giants day game and catching a warriors night game :banderas:
all the bytches walking around king street on game day :blessed:
bars, sports bars, restaurants

vs

staying in oakland where you're surrounded by a huge parking lot and a shady ass neighborhood and mexicans grilling hot dogs on the ramp towards bart :flabbynsick:

edit:

here is a "yuppie" crowd :mjpls:

It was the same thing down here.. the city of Inglewood had the Showtime Lakers, and Gretzky playing for the Kings and they never built sh*t around the Forum. Not one single bar, hotel, restaurant or anything. Downtown LA was a ghost town ten years ago and the proposed Staple Center project was laughed at and panned. Man Staples and downtown LA is a monster now.. all jump started by Staples Center. Bars, restaurants, new hotel highrises, clubs, lounges, etc.. everywhere in all directions and now its spreading down to USC. I see what the Warriors are doing. Sacramento wants to do the same thing as well

No, dude said tech money, and clearly he only specified the tech sector because of its dominance not like they were doing anything specific to target that sector instead of other
sectors. There's more money to be made in SF is the point...a point you tried to refute with this "they're just bringing them back to where they started" bullshyt :laff:

I fell you.. but its sad though. I grew up in Fresno but I used to go up to Oakland alot when I was a kid. My uncle had a liquor store in East Oakland- true story. I used to go to A's games eons ago. they still should have better support than this
