actually breh, the defense and special team has been carrying us the majority of this season.
You gotta keep Boykins in the slot because he is the only guy we have who can play there on this team
Maybe you start Carroll but he is not much of an upgrade. He could bomb it too.
This team really needs to overhaul the Corners next year. They are really our weak point and we can not make a long playoff run with the guys we have.
Our defense is designed to play with a lead. Our run defense is not good.
Our pass defense is in the top 5. The secondary is very good especially playing man to man. Shields is as fast as anyone. Williams still moves around as he did 5 years ago. House is good in the slot. Hayward is amazing in the slot.
Haha is getting better everyday as is Hyde. Burnett is great in the run game from the SS spot.
Our run defense will be why we get eliminated. Unless Matthews playing at ILB is a true revelation... we can't stop the run because we don't have a true NT on the roster (we lost Raji in August to injury and even if he was healthy, he was bad in 2013)
Only way we win a SB with this defense is if the secondary which is the strength gets 4 or 5 games of picks and they convert or the offense converts on a short field.
That's how we won in 2010 but we had better run defenders back then
Peppers ain't in his prime but his impact is felt. He is still athletic, quick off the line, and he plays hard.

The good years ............ since then we had Dimitri Patterson, Feast or Famine Asante, That guy from Oakland who wore number 24 here, DRC playing struggle coverage in the slot, and now these two fukk boys.

If we had better pass rushers that can make a secondary better easily but we have none at all. Next year we need an elite pass rush in free agency and some secondary help. I think people forget that this is Chip and staff second year it will take time to add these pieces but we are beasting with limited perssonel.
