I know people who scored below 1300 and one of them is at GSU the other went to Valdosta

It isn;t 100% SAT scores either, 1400 isn't great but it damn sure isn't bad it's average at worst

and wtf Asians got to do with this? They're an entirely different conversation don't compare young black kids to Asians at your convenience
I went to GSU for undergrad. It's a good school, BUT the point ppl trying to make is you shouldn't be happy with those scores just because average schools will take you. I knew very smart ppl who went to GSU for convenience...and ppl who honestly made me feel like why did I get into a school this guy also got into :dahell:

You should be aiming for higher and he needs to pull up those scores bc they are really low. It doesn't bode well for learning in college if you can't do SAT level work and reasoning. It could be a waste of the students time to just go to college bc they got in with shytty scores.

Why is average or below average acceptable? Especially for young people these days. 1/4 of recent college grads are unemployed, 1/2 are underemployed. And you want to settle for below average?

With a quick google georgia state is unranked and valdosta is number 69 regional universities for the south. Nothing to brag about breh.

You understand average means it is what most people get right? Average isn't necessarily a bad thing, it means you're right where you should be in relation to your peers most of the time. An average SAT score isn't a bad thing an above average one just gives you a slight edge over others

You can't blame unemployment on SAT scores man c'mon :stopitslime:
I'm not bragging about Valdosta he wanted to go there, I just know he went and wanted to seek a higher education and that is something to fukkin brag about "breh"

Maybe I'm missing something but SAT scores mainly just help with your entry to college, after I got in SAT scores have disappeared from my life completely....

It didn't even get my a scholarship my grades did so explain to me how good enough to get in is bad regarding the SAT? I can agree shoot for higher but if the school I wanted to go to wanted a fukkin 1000 just to get in explain why I would need a 1500? The school I'm at now for flight only required a 1200 I think I got a 1500 it didn't help any since the acceptance rate is about 80 something percent

You know this is graded on standard deviation right? Average is bad. The average income is falling. There are poor networking opportunities at average schools.

The average collge student is not my 'peer'. The average college student is in debt and doesnt know shyt. The average college student spends all day stoned and hung over.

What do you think about this:

a 700 is better than 95 percent
a 500 is better than 50 percent

You really think the kid getting all 700s and the kid with 500s are peers?

I don't think scoring higher on a test makes you better than anybody personally...but that's just me

I'm an average college student, I'm not in crippling debt, for school or medical bills. You're tellling me standard deviations and scores for a system we both know is broken especially in Georgia and honestly this conversation feels pointless. All I'm saying is if you hit the threshold to get into your college then you're fine, the score mentioned in the OP post depends on where the kid wants to go period :yeshrug:

I'm sure we can agree on that and leave it

I hear what you saying.. it all depends on the student. BUT...I'm lighting fire under my kids ass if they bring home sub 500 sections :comeon:

A low sat score says nothing about how smart or not smart you are. absolutely nothing. A high SAT score says a lot.

Im not saying the person with the 1400 should commit suicide, im saying they should study to get into the best school possible.

ummm actually low or high says nothing about intelligence, you've been in the same system I have these standardized tests don't measure intelligence but how well you you can regurgitate trivial information.

1400 isn't that serious bruh, 1200 and below is when you wanna reevaluate some things but again it depends on where the person wants to go and that school's requirements, if the requirement is 1400 and below the kid's golden, if not what does he need to do? not get smarter homie, Study and regurgitate :sas1:

I haven't encountered the said job or been required to list it on my resume so what "job" wants to know your fukkin SAT scores? That seems like the definition of trivial

"I see you got a 1700 on your SAT's 7 years ago, I'll pick you over the guy with actual experience"

People use scores to sort through college student resumes
