Out here is L.A. some latinos are into a twisted form of catholicism which is actually more like satanism. They worship Santa Muerte and Mal Verde. But the Santa Muerte one is much worse. Essentially it is the grim reaper but it is supposed to protect you from harm and give you revenge on your enemies. There is a candle to light that has a prayer about money and revenge. Santa Muerte takes sacrifices like money, weed, cigarettes and alcohol but in the darkest forms it gets into human sacrifices. They do this heavy in the narco world and parts of L.A. have adopted this too, it started in a tough barrio of mexico city called Tepa.
