Y'all being hard on Jimbo how we were on Muschamp last season. I think Jimbo just needs to commit to the run more next year like how we did this season. He's the "right" man for the job. Now if Wilder isn't the leading rusher in the ACC next season, or top 5, then fire him cause there's NO reason as to why he should be

I don't think Jimbo needs to go, because the program has certainly improved under his watch... whether or not we can take the next step and be "back" under his regime? the jury is still out.

He definitely needs to go out and hire a competent OC though... he spreads himself too thin and ends up making mistakes in both areas, as a HC and as a playcaller... a sharp, innovative offensive mind would help us get the most out of our skill position players, something that doesn't seem to be occurring as of late

He knows he has 9 easy wins on the schedule each year and will use the we won 10 games card whenever questioned about his performance.

I have no confidence in him leading FSU to the next level he won't make changes fukk Trickett should've been gone a long time ago.

How this fukker talking about we want a process and foundation and the first thing you need to win NC's is top level OL recruiting and coaching.

FSU OL play is always average and we won't attract any top level recruits with the old man Trickett looking for them diamond in the rough types.

FSU is a 3-4 loss a year program with this staff in place. I swear if he actually gives Clint Trickett the starting QB gig in a rebuilding year next year I hope the boosters give him a Jeff Bowden parting gift to GTFO.

Winston and Coker are the future at the QB position miss me with the their young excuses. 5 of the top 10 BCS schools are playing RS Freshman or Sophs at QB this year good coaches have shown they can succeed with young guys.

Jimbo is a fukking idiot when it comes to the running game. All these bullshyt east/west run calls he makes are disgusting.

Why he didn't have EJ,Freeman,Wilder and CT4 running all over the fukking field makes me sick.

We should built a run game the way Nebraska uses Martinez,Burkhead and Abdullah.

Jimbo try to turn a shaky decision maker into a pocket passer instead of letting the guy wing it and just make plays. Play to the nikkas strengths why the fukk we calling low percent PA out of the gun on 3rd and 12 with an OL and QB that can't pick up blitzes to save his life.:mindblown:

Wilder and Freeman were fukking wasted Saturday. Freeman gets a 20 yard run and don't touch ball again,Wilder gets a 17 yard run to the 1 gets the crowd fukking hyped and isn't seen again until we down 10 in the 4th. :what:

I can't lie, I was :mindblown: at all the damn "play action" calls that obviously didn't fool us as the game went on.

Also the lack of uptempo/fast break offense was :what:. That's been the FSU bread and butter since Richt was calling plays and had been successful at times for y'all this season.

Part of me just thinks he didn't trust EJ Manuel and never really has trusted him but stuck with him out of loyalty or something.

Should've gave him more competition than the 170 pound OL coaches son then.

Great point about up tempo/fast break. This season when FSU went at a fast pace the offense looked DAMN GOOD. Dumbo said he didn't like going at that pace though.

The problem is he is stubborn. It's his way or the highway. Dude doesn't understand culture of FSU football.

Yeah he'd rather let the offense fukk up and waste timeouts due to not getting the plays called on time or having his QB check in/out of something else so we get delay of game or false starts. Why not go uptempo it's not like the fukker committed to the run anyway. The fukks the point of milking time just so the punter could kick the ball 35 yards down the field.

Jimbo Fisher plans to hand off playcalling duties as part of 5-year plan

So the question shifts from "if" to "when" and "who?"

Jimbo Fisher has hinted in recent weeks that he eventually wants to turn over playcalling duties to an offensive coordinator. But this level of detail in a rambling bit to one of the final questions in Fisher's press conference Monday was a bit unexpected to say the least.

Watch the video (it's queued up to the right spot, just let it load).

Fisher said that he does eventually have plans to turn over playcalling to an offensive coordinator, and that those plans are part of his greater five-year plan as a head coach. He also revealed that he has a ten-year plan.

The whole bit is a bit difficult to put into print, so just watch the video. It's free.

Analysis: Obviously, 2012 is Year 3 of his tenure at Florida State, so the change would presumably come in 2013 or 2014, assuming the plan is on pace. I guess.

I know of at least one person, who I believe Fisher respects, told him to get a playcaller. I believe it may happen as soon as 2013.

Do I think that Fisher is a poor playcaller? No. I think that's a convenient buzz term that some fall back on when they don't understand the game very well. "Playcalling" has come to encompass everything from gameplanning, to adjustments, to design, to philosophy, to personnel decisions.

What I do think, however, is that Fisher wears a lot of hats.

The stress of being head coach, offensive coordinator (in practice, not in name), quarterback coach (again, in practice and not in name because Dameyune Craig is primarily on the staff to recruit) and head recruiter is a lot. Not to mention the additional stress caused by off-field issues.

And I think wearing all of those hats can lead to being a jack of all trades, and a master of none.

There is no guarantee that the offense will improve if Fisher does hand off playcalling duties. It could, certainly, but I don't view Fisher's playcalling as anywhere near the issue that some do.

But I do think it could help in another area: head coaching.

Fisher has struggled at times this season with clock management and seeing the bigger picture in games.

The question, then, becomes whether Florida State can find someone to call plays equally well as or better than Fisher, so that he can be freed up up to have greater focus on gameday duties.

And I think the answer to that is yes. Not because I don't think Fisher is a good playcaller, but because I don't think he is so special as a playcaller that the offense would suffer (if at all) if he were to give it up.

The reward of better game and time management is probably worth it.

On another note, this media address did not really seem all that well thought out or smooth. Fisher would probably have been better served to table the discussion for the off-season, and then having his ducks in a row on the issue.

And no, I don't know if it will happen in 2013 or 2014. And no, I don't have any idea on realistic candidates as of yet. That will make for some great off-season talk.
