This came out of left field, but makes sense with Saudi trying to focus inward, and Iran in no shape to continue its active foreign policy.

The talks were hosted in China, which is a new development. Very likely that an end to Saudi involvement in Yemen will follow shortly, with the Saudis recognizing the Houthi-led Government and fully withdrawing. Iran will likely pressure Houthis to accept.

Chinas been the number 1 market for Iranian and Saudi oil exports for a while now. Previously they stuck to strictly commercial transactions, but now it appears they want to be more active in Middle East diplomacy and geopolitics.

Nah its a black eye for us. China just brokered a deal with Saudi and Iran for the first time at the same time USA is trying to broker a deal between Israel and Saudi for the same thing but Saudi isnt budging on that front. Diplomatic coup.
