probably for better reasons than this savage bullshyt :yeshrug:

Yeah....about that...

The founder of a democracy and environmental advocacy group, Peng Ming was found guilty in 2005 of “organizing and leading a terrorist organization.” Before that, in a hastily written letter, Peng warned his family that he might soon meet with an “accident.”

“You can be sure that it was made to look like an accident,” he wrote, “that it was a set up.”

Peng died in prison last November while watching television, according to Radio Free Asia. Fearing he had indeed met with a suspicious “accident,” as his letter warned, his family demanded an independent autopsy, to no avail. Instead, the authorities removed his brain and heart and wrote, simply, “died suddenly” on the report.
Like Peng Ming, Lei Yang, a 29-year-old environmentalist with a master’s degree from one of China’s best universities, also died in custody under suspicious circumstances last year. He was detained by police at a foot massage parlor in May; later that night, he was sent to the hospital after a heart attack, the authorities said, where he was pronounced dead.
One, Sherab Ngawang, was 12 when she was arrested in 1992 for participating in a protest. She was severely beaten with electric batons and a plastic tube filled with sand, according to a 1996 Human Rights Watch report. “They beat her until she was so covered with bruises that you could hardly recognize her,” a source told HRW. In 1994, aged 14, she succumbed to injuries sustained under detention and died at a prison hospital in Lhasa.
Enver Tohti was a surgeon in a hospital in Xinjiang, in the northwestern part of China, when, in June 1995, he was instructed by his superior to prepare for an adventure — surgery in the field.

In the morning, when the doctor and his team arrived at their destination, he realized they were at “the Western Mountain Execution Grounds, which specialized in killing political dissidents.”

“When you hear a gunshot, drive around the hill,” he was told.

He asked why they were there.

“You don’t want to know.”

After the shot rang out, he drove where he was told, and saw “10, maybe 20, bodies lying at the base of the hill.” The police led him to one in particular, a man of “about 30 dressed in navy blue overalls,” and told him that this is the man Tohti would be operating on.

“‘Why are we operating?’ Tohti protested. ‘Come on. This man is dead.’ ”

But Tohti felt a faint pulse, stiffened and corrected himself. “No. He’s not dead.”

“Operate, then. Remove the liver and kidneys. Now! Quick! Be quick!’ ”

A stunned Tohti did as he was told, trying to pretend this was normal procedure. He “glanced questioningly at the chief surgeon. ‘No anesthesia,’ said the chief surgeon. ‘No life support.’ ” The anesthesiologist “just stood there, arms folded. ‘He’s already unconscious,’ the man reasoned.”

The anesthesiologist was wrong.

“As Enver’s scalpel went in, the man’s chest heaved spasmodically and then curled back again.” After Tohti removed the organs and stitched him up — “not internally,” as there was “no point to that anymore” — he noticed that blood was still pulsing. He was sure the man was still alive.”
Organs coming out of China — which sometimes wind up in American bodies — are taken not just from the worst Chinese criminals, as China claims, but also from prisoners of conscience, especially practitioners of the banned and derided practice Falun Gong, who never committed, or were even accused of, capital crimes.

Making this far worse, though, are the revelations that authorities aren’t waiting for death to claim their bounty. In an effort to increase the chances of successful transplant, Gutmann writes, the organs are often taken from prisoners while they are still alive.

Gutmann estimates that to date, more than 64,000 Falun Gong practitioners have suffered this fate, with more being added to the count every day.

Yeah, killing environmentalists, beating to death preteen girls who went to a political rally, and harvesting organs from the living bodies of people who happened to follow the wrong New Age religion...not savage at all.

Sometimes I think you don't know shyt about how the world works but just evaluate everything though the filters of various prejudices.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Atheist China executes more people than the entire rest of the world combined. :usure:

Indonesia is the largest Muslim nation on the planet and they regularly go years without a single execution. The last president said he was considering putting a moratorium on the death penalty full stop, as several other Muslim nations have already done.

I didn't know China was atheist?...you mean the goverment is secular or the people are atheist?

China practices official State Atheism. The government is officially atheist and you must declare yourself an atheist to join the Communist Party.

In theory they allow freedom of religion so long as you aren't part of the government or the Communist Party, but in reality they only recognize 5 religions, force those religions to follow their orders, and can cut you up alive and take your organs for profit if you belong to a religion they don't like.

As a result, about 60% of China's population is atheist, and only 10% or so are religious (though there's a lot of argument about that figure).
