Saw V was Detective Hoffman taking over as "Jigsaw" and trying to cover up his tracks as the FBI is trying to figure everything out
Saw VI was Detective Hoffman dealing with his own Jigsaw's test as Jigsaw told him in an earlier movie "just because I'm dead and you're the last man standing... that doesn't mean you're not going to be tested", plus it flashes back to when Jigsaw was trying to get a cure for his cancer but certain people prevented that and he made him pay for that...

Great theater experience when seen once but on repeated viewing they've aged badly. You don't even get excited or moved by all the torture it's all kind of boringSaw 1 was a classic
Ps I hope this reboot (at least I think it is) is a little more sophisticated and high brow focusing on the psychological thriller side more than the gratuitous blood and guts just for the sake of it. With such a title I expect something in the vain of 7 not hostel
