When I went to nigeria for a damn 30 day visa i had to provide 3 months bank statement, invitation letter from a nigerian who has a passport, booked hotel, proof of funds. And then when you land people asking to give you money so they won't search my bag, "anything for the girls". Then if you make it out the airport you're hounded left and right and stuck forever in traffic.

Ish was ridiculous and its still the same process, yet for like uganda, kenya etc. you can just go online and ten minutes you're done.

Here's the thing they just gave it a title but ppl flying back to their respective motherland/native countries during the christmas/new years festive season for whatever reason be it to party, see family, etc has been a thing Since long before I was even born. This isn't a new movement that just propped up, this has been going on since the 60s/70s and iirc they do same thing in the Caribbeans and Latin America. It's not even just Nigeria as we're talking South Africa, Gambia, Uganda, Ghana, Kenya, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone, Senegal, Liberia and almost all African countries are currently just as packed
