Everyone knows the sports networks are part of the problem, but most blame will always be on the league.
I'm familiar with both podcasts you mentioned. I haven't heard about Scrugg's podcast in 2 years, R2C2 also covers other sports.

What's the MLB equivalent of Gil's Arena (which isn't promoted by any major sports network)?

If that’s the type of content you’re looking for then you’re not going to find it with MLB as they don’t treat their sport in the way that the NBA does.
