If KRS isn't in your top 10 you should listen to all of his music again and revaluate your list.

Pac is the 2nd most overrated rapper of all time (Cacinem is the first)

Cam'ron is Garbage. He survived off of his style and "swag"

90% of mainstream southern music is absolute buffoonery

Lauryn Hill dropped ONE classic solo album and that's it. She's not a tortured genius. She simply fell the fukk off and she's done.

Lupe Fiasco is better than your favorite current generation rapper. Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Blu, whoever. Lupe would destroy all of them. He's the nikka that should've dropped the Control verse

Killer Mike is better than Big Boi

Jay Electronica is lazy and SCARED to drop a debut album. That's right I said it. The nikka knows he can't match the hype and won't drop the album out of fear

:damn:

...but :wowwow:

The Internet coupled with the false entitlement of hip-hop fans is what is ultimately killing the quality of the genre.

I'm not just referring to the whole "I'm not spending money on it if I don't consider it classic after I've downloaded it for free" shyt either.

I'm talking about how everyone's opinion is the "end-all, be-all" and any "local rapper" feels like the deserve more than they really do, so they don't support their own scene or invest in themselves because everyone thinks they should be/could be "on". Calling everything trash, being close-minded, and ridiculing the artists is essentially a part of the culture now.

Through clever marketing, affiliations, association with hyped up movements (OF, TDE), paying artists to appear on THEIR shyt, Mac Miller has convinced the hip-hop media that he is NOT a corny MC and wack producer...

How did he wind up on a Camp Lo album? A Meek Mill joint? A Coke Boyz joint? Pinata? ...and then he fukks with Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande, but still "independant"....:beli:

Were they really trying to get Mac Miller on their shyt? Really? Seems like an "I'll trade you my white fans to be 'down' with what youre doing" type deal. His fans buy records and he gives them exposure

Nah breh. I prefer to call a spade a spade, his whole resurgence in the last few years feels fake to me. Like Iggy or Macklemore with better PR. His last album was cool, I enjoyed parts of it. Mostly the production, he normally raps over pretty great production.....its too bad I find his voice and persona to be extremely corny, Id probably enjoy it more
