It was either Ebony or Jet magazine that almost got shut down because they showed a Black Christ on the cover

Yep. It was Ebony, and some black folks were furious. They mailed Ebony magazine pictures of their white Jesus and canceled their subscriptions

Christianity teaches black people to be submissive to a system of oppression. They also subconsciously view white people as closer to God. When they think of God or Jesus I bet they picture a bearded white man. They’ll never admit it though.
Man get outta here with this stupid ass bullshyt.

What black person thinks like this ?

Internet rumor.

Post a legitimate news source saying this happened when they ran that cover.

Today, I learned that Civil Rights, not 'White Supremacy', is what is keeping Black people behind, and, your name will sound EXACTLY the same in different languages that don't even possess the same sounds or alphabets.

I also learned that the Middle East is actually in Africa and African slaves were too stupid to know they were being lied to because none of them learned how to read.

Also dudes should atleast know the slavery the Bible speaks of wasn't talm about the slavery african Americans endured or even the slavery the ottomans led.

Christianity itself doesn't lead one to be submissive to cacs.

In fact I would argue a man who knows GOD is going to learn things about himself and build up the strength and find a purpose and make a way on this earth.

Malcolm and Dr.King wouldn't have gotten busy without GOD giving them that purpose but commend those two men for answering the call .

I was in church every Sunday. A large black church. There was a portrait of “Jesus” hanging up near the entrance and it was Caesar Borgia. How come in church they never taught us he was a black man?
:scust:

Because Jesus wasn't a Black man. He was a Palestinian Jew and the Church you went to is not demonstrative of ALL Churches. The one I was forced to attend only had wooden carvings of Jesus, in mahogany, being crucified and none of the Churches we visited had depictions of a "White" Jesus. This was back in the 70's/early-80's.

Why didn't ANY of the African 'dieties' convince Africans not to sell their own people to Europeans or Arabs? Why were African 'dieties' utterly powerless to do anything to prevent African Nations from collapsing? Why did African 'dieties' absolutely fail to make ANY African Nation a world power?

It wasn't Christianity, it was the black church being a central meeting place and the community that sprung up around it due to segregation. Houses of worship were often gathering places for Civil Rights activists and community organizers. Unfortunately, as Christianity became a more lucrative enterprise and the Prosperity Pimps Preachers discovered newfound wealth, a lot of black people soured toward the Church altogether.

People can only tolerate being told their struggle and poverty is a righteous test from God by a man who pulls into the church parking lot in a Bentley for so long.

Has nothing to do with church. Black neighborhoods are always shuffling new people in and out and getting gentrified on top of that. You don't really care to get to know your neighbors like that when every year a family is moving out the neighborhood and being replaced by a new one. The turn around time in the neighborhood I grew up in was 5 years and my parents are now 3 houses removed from where I was raised. I don't know anyone in the neighborhood I grew up in that still lives there.

I'm just as bad. Lived in a different apartment every year until I bought a house. Lived in this house for three years and will either sell or rent it out in the next two years. I don't know any of my neighbors because I'm now the longest tenured person on my block. And judging by how my girl is, we'll prolly never live in the same neighborhood for longer than 10 years :sadcam:. That's not community building at all.

This is more of an issue of black people being priced out of our own communities and being forced to look elsewhere for better paying jobs and lower costs of living. Both of my (college educated) parents eventually had to leave our city and move either several states or counties away simply because their salaries were no longer able to afford them comfortable lifestyles.
