He’s not a better rapper than Kendrick he simply isn’t if he was he wouldn’t back down.

For what it’s worth I think they’re pretty close, I would have had Cole just above him just before the battle simply based on output and his last few verses and I wasn’t big on Kendrick’s last album but the battle reminded me of the Kendrick I took a liking to when I first heard section 80.

It's not. I don't dislike the verse, it's cool. But it's like a lot of his recent stuff. A bar exercise with little that makes me go oh shyt. IMO? Ab had the best verse. He on that bar exercise shyt too but I liked it better for the same reason I usually take a Nas lyrical exercise over a Hov one. It's about the perspective, the information you take in (reading, film, convos, whatever). If someone is more into a Hov version of that I'm not gonna say "nah Hov is wack" or deny he has had some amazing verses. I just prefer a different style usually.

A perfect example to me is Cole on Hunting Wabbitz:
