We were forced to revolt somewhat. He cut pell grant spending, which meant a lot of black people couldn't finish college. He was a good president for white people though.

All I know is Obama was better than Bush Jr (predecessor) and Trump (successor).

He did all of that. So yes, he rose above the bar that was set by his predecessor.
