She has her own firm and a team that helps her with people's cases and how to fix them (kind of what publicists do when their client is in a scandal or PR diaster). They usually go to her since she's renowned, but some times she pursues the cases herself. There is an old subplot where she used to have an affair with the president when she worked for his presidential campaign, and he is white. That is the part is what race obsessed people are fixated on; they dislike seeing her with a white man. The fact that people think actually that's what the shows about tells you as much.

IMO shows like Scandal cater to a certain demographic and I honestly look at chicks who watch it differently at first.

Second because even ABC admits that the show's success comes primarily from AA women, NOT wide swaths of the population. This implies the show isn't good and only appeals to some people as such. If the show actually had redeeming qualities outside of bed wench c00nery, it would be popular outside the African American female demographic. The Wire was a show that was popular amongst broad swaths of the population because it was excellently written. Scandal isn't. .

You have to be lacking major sorts of common sense to compare the demographics viewership of a show that airs on a pay-subscription cable service to one that airs on free network television.

And the Wire is the stupidest fukking black show ever. Yes, brag about the diversity of people of watching a bunch of blacks act like their in a zoo and sling poison to each other and kill each other. Yeah. It's not wonder the show is so diverse. I bet white people love watching that. Funny thing is, you're actually prideful of the fact that more white people wanna watch black MEN sell drugs and kill each other while an aloof white man is the only one who wants to save all the poor blacks in a city run by black government officials who are all corrupt than to watch a black woman in probably one of the most important career fields in the country.
