ScHoolboy Q Says Heβs Halfway Done With New Album
ScHoolboy Q dropped by Zane Loweβs Beats 1 radio show Thursday afternoon and gave an update on his new album.
βI just left the studio like 3 hours ago,β he told Lowe. βIβm halfway done with it. I never been this inspired that fast.β
Q just dropped Blank Face LP last summer, but before the year ended, he said heβs ready to drop another project this year. He even talked about what the content of the next project would revolve around.
βItβs moreso my life after I made it to the point of ScHoolboy Q. I gave you me, but I never gave you the other side of me: the father, the dude thatβs actually happy, the dude that doesnβt be in the hood just hanging out. The dude thatβs trying to put his homies in position now. Iβm not a deadbeat father anymore.β
He also talked to Lowe about his creative process, the GRAMMYs (for which heβs nominated for two, and Q acknowledged βthey donβt put rappers like me in the GRAMMYsβ), the progression of his albums, the importance of street rappers, the evolution of Los Angeles rap and more.
A bonus from the interview? He said heβs got a βbunch more new recordsβ with Anderson .Paak ready to go. Weβll take as many as heβs willing to give us.

Wonder what the label thinks about Blankface. Oxymoron went plat and had multiple singles that popped. Blankface kind of bombed and had one big single. It'll be interesting to see how this next one does, after such a successful tour btw.
Regardless Q got a solid fan base

He has to pay for all that shyt tho but I'm sure he recouped through the tour maybe but he would get more as an indie act due to not having to split the proceeds so much. And how they feel is dependent on how much they spent on promo, which is only a number that they have.
