Clark Wayne
Superstar
I'm guessing around 135-145k. After reading this thread I think people are over and underestimating Q
I NEVER thought Pusha T's or the Clipse overall ever had a HUGE fanbase to begin with. Yes, they had loyal fans, but it was always been small in numbers. We can discuss the politics behind it another time, most of it being the whole label drama they endure throughout their entire careers and those long ass breaks between LPs that are killer in keeping up with your fans.
Whereas, one of the HOTTEST MC's in the game is Kendrick Lamar. One of the biggest labels out right now is TDE. Their worldwide grind has been NONSTOP. Comparing that with Pusha is incomparable. His association with G.O.O.D. as well as the rest of those MC's has been abysmal due to the fact that Kanye been incapable in making it an actual family or clique. The reason why MMG been successful is due to them able to associate themselves as one big family and not just individual labelmates. You have Wale, Meek Mill, and Rick Ross all debuting more that 150K, and you assume that TDE, off the strength of Kendrick Lamar alone don't have THAT large enough of a fanbase that would give Schoolboy Q more than 150K?
And the only reason why Q didn't drop last year, by his OWN admission, was because of his OWN insecurity. He held on to the album until the last minute.

No, the reason MMG was successful, is because of them carving out individual fanbases for themselves...while still being under the same umbrella.
you keep talking TDE, but this is about what Schoolboy is gonna do....with your logic, a dude like Tyga should be doing 200-300k because he's apart of the same crew as Wayne,Drake and Nicki.
TDE's fanbase didn't stop Jay Rock from selling 5,300 copies his first week either
and his album didn't drop last year, because Interscope wasn't trying to end up with another Machine Gun Kelly or French Montana.
Schoolboy Q has fans, he wouldn't be headlining a worldwide tour without one. Read that again, he's headlining his own tour, and selling out shows internationally and in the states. He has his own fanbase, to go along with TDE's fanbase.
Jay Rock dropped before the TDE fanbase hit it's peak. He was the start of it, him killing his features will build up hype to his next re-lease. I promise you that.

Jay Rock dropped in 2011, before TDE really even took off. Since then, even his fan base has grown. Do your research sir.
Breh, who doesn't headline their own tour? he has a album coming out on a major label.... of course he's gonna have a damn tour. how else is he supposed to make money off his music?
what people miss, is that the dynamic of the TDE fanbase is not one that leans towards straight up gangsta rap....and that they're mostly hipsters who don't really fukk with Jay Rock or people who make music like him like that.
like i said... loyal fanbase. anyone saying UNDER 150k are talking nonsense.
Breh, you're trying too hard...Jay Rock type of music is not really one that TDE fans as a whole seek out, or support.
Musically, Jay Rock is the damn near antithesis of Kendrick, but you aint getting that.
So tell me why when Money Trees, or any of the other features Jay Rock is on people give him credit. The point's you are trying to make are wrong, and invalid.
people give him credit for having dope features, but how many of them really checking for Jay Rocks music?
the point i'm making is quite obvious. you don't get it cause you're stanning right now.

What solo material has Jay Rock dropped? There's a couple records but really he hasn't dropped a project since 2011. TDE was built of the strength of Jay Rocks initial buzz. His first single for that album that came out in 2011? Oh yeah that's right it dropped in 2008. You try garnering sales when the period between your promotional singles and the actual album is 3 years.
you're attempting to mosey around the point.
we've seen this scenario play out already with 50 and G Unit..... people swore up and down that Tony Yayo and Lloyd Banks would sell like crazy, just because of their association with 50.
you're gonna find out that TDE fans, aren't actually TDE fans... the majority of them are just Kendrick fans, who aren't gonna buy the other rappers albums. they might listen to them, but they usually don't buy their albums.
this supposed transitive property you believe exists, doesn't really.....it just seems like it would in theory.
