on sohh and AHH he didnt have a bigger buzz, maybe on the white people forums he did, who knows

okay? you're still moving the goalposts.......

"kendrick was bigger"

"rocky had a push" <- nah, asap pushed themselves.. yams knows a lot of fukkin shyt from interning with diploamts records that he learned and spent a long time studying movements (plus the fact they had two appealing looks videos helped)

"he only had a buzz amongst white people"

stick to one argument, if you wanna say rocky has mostly a white fanbase, id agree.. but that isn't what you're doing. and besides, so does kendrick.. apparently :stopitslime:

ive seen mad people on here making claims that only "cacs" and hipsters fukk with kendrick and q

na them forums never held any weight around these parts :yeshrug: so they still wont ever hold weight over here
I'm talking about the overall scale of popularity in music. ASAP was more popular.
But The funny thing is the same hipster cac blogs posting about ASAP were posting about Kendrick, ASAP was just bigger.

ASAP Rocky literally didn't even exist to the world when the hype train for Kendrick and TDE was first starting to gain steam and to build their fanbase :pachaha: ....TDE were already known entities making REAL moves (i.e. moving tens of thousands of records independently) before ASAP even had a mixtape out ...K. Dot was chosen for that XXL freshman list in 2010, and he and and TDE/Black Hippy were fawned over by major rap media all thru early 2011...Overly Dedicated and especially Section.80 were huge online and is what started the push for that whole camp in a major way... ASAP popped up completely outta nowhere with those videos getting pu$hed on all the trendy blogs and such, but didn't even a collection of music out...the core tde fanbase was already built at that point...otherwise, how do y'all think Q ended up on ASAP's debut mixtape in the first place??? lol you think he just randomly picked some random nobody from some random act from clear across the country to get on his first serious body of work ever? the Section.80 buzz >>>> that artificial label canvassing stuff with ASAP...because at least it had something real and tangiable attached to it at the time, actual music...Rigamortis (which had renowned buzz vampire Busta making a fake remix) and HiPower (J. cole was talking bout Kendrick as his peer and claiming to be making a joint project with him) was bigger in REAL LIFE than anything ASAP had going up until he was signed and they had officially started working his album...like, it's a reason why Kendrick came out and sold like 3 or 4 times more than Rocky did

No, reason being Kendrick had a better album and created more talk with his being more quality and filling a void a lot of people felt hip hop was missing.

you're delusonal if you think Kendrick had more of a buzz and hype.

yes, kendrick and tde had a cult fanbase and some cats who are big now into them, but they didn't have more buzz and hype than those two songs rocky dropped. not where i live, at all

My Pops Forever RIP
If Q did huge first week numbers it would have more to do with the people that heard him only from his verse on White Walls giving him a shot (let's keep it 100, nobody has contributed more to any outside viability Q may have than Macklemore putting him on a top 20 single). Other than that, Q doesn't have a big single, no big feature outside of White Walls, and given how people reacted to the Oxymoron leak, it's not as if he's gonna have great word of mouth to help him either. What he has to rely on is that he shares fanbases with rappers with other loyal fanbases (A$AP Rocky, Mac Miller, Tyler the Creator)

I hope he does more than 120k, but I'll be surprised if he does.

I'm delusional for thinking Kendrick had more buzz and hype??? The nikka was winning BET awards for best lyricist MONTHS BEFORE HIS ALBUM EVEN CAME OUT :pachaha: ..you pretty much don't get more hype than that...was like seen as the most promising member of that XXL freshman class and had rap veterans openly fawning over his material...you bolded the part about me asking how and why did Rocky even put Q on his first project ever presented to the world even he wasn't already known and buzzing at that point, but offer zero explanation :pachaha: ... if Kendrick has no hype and no buzz, relative to Rocky...how did get a release date before Rocky? Section.80 came months before those ASAP videos hit the net, so he had no new material to all of a sudden heat him up...but he somehow magically catches on fire and outsells what Rocky ended up doing when he finally did get a release...AFTER a single with a feature from Kendrick...i see the"where you live" qualifier, but obviously we're not just talking about the couple blocks around your house when we talk about buzz, hype and fanbases...the industry, media, and fan buzz for Kendrick and black hippy by proxy >>> Rocky's...those Rocky and Q collabos had the hype that they did in large part because of the buzz Q had already built up as part of TDE...it wasn't like it was "Damn...that joint with Rocky and this random nameless nobody ass nikka from the west coast somewhere is kinda hot"...Q was already a known entity by that point

it's almost guaranteed that people thinking he's gonna do wild numbers... aren't even gonna buy the album.

when he respectable numbers for somebody of his position...y'all gonna realize how delusional y'all were.
