shyt has 9 features, almost all emcees and people are crying for more?
I'd rather see 2-3 features tops on your debut album (Although it's not really his debut). Dudes are going on tour performing 50% of songs and shyt. I guess since the last album "only" had features on ¼ of the songs he wanted to fukk with some of his peoples.. But still.
meh, thats outta 17 tracks. two of the features are only for hooks. That SZA feature is on an interlude for goodness sake.

Besides that he has three legends so to speak as features,2Chainz and another two TDE members. The features are very well chosen.
Yall complain about every fukking thing man :snoop:

Got finished listening to it. Maybe because I've been a Schoolboy Q fan since day 1, and already prepared to what kind of album I was going to get from him, I am highly satisfied and entertained by it. I knew this album will polarize a lot of people though. Today's generation is too conditioned to trap beats, R&B assisted songs, and joints that aren't hemmed to a theme, but a bunch of ready made disposal-singles.

This album instead is experimental, trippy like you are taking a drug-induced voyage narrated by Q (which, I believe is the agenda). This wouldn't be an album for everyone, and I give him props not trying to sell-out to appease the cookie cutter pop group. Not knock anyone that dislikes or are disappointed by it, but this is one of those acquired taste type LPs. I fuccks with it hard thou. This shyt will knock HARD in the whip too.

Basically.

I listened to it about 4 times. While i do think H&C was a bit stronger, this is still a solid album. He doesn't have a "Nightmare on Figg Street" type type on here which i would understand as it's his major debut. The undeniably worst track is "Los Awesome"…maybe he was so gassed to get a Pharrell beat that he just picked that one. The second half of "Prescription/Oxymoron" is :wow::wow:. I think Q's music is meant to be vibed to. Album was mostly fire, but i think H&C gets the edge based on how rawer it is. "Studio" shoulda gotten pushed to radio already. This album's gonna knock in the summer. The knock on "Gangsta" is retarded.

I'm a Q stan, so I'm biased. Gonna see him here in NY on March 4th. Some tracks need to be seen live for people to appreciate them as well.

What exactly am I complaining about?
I said the album was dope and that nikkas should stop yelling for more features, he's already got a bunch.

Word, here's the general consensus. Everyone basically hates "Los Awesome" and several are quite mixed on "The Purge" then off the strength of TWO SONGS they either go out their way to say it "garbage" or a "disappointment". Just because of TWO SONGS off a 15 tracklist!

And no offense, because I appear to be a minority here, but I felt H&C was cool, but had too many skippable tracks for me. It has it dull moments in my view whereas Oxymoron was cohesive and energized from front to back. I just enjoy this album more.

i think what happened was that after listening to Los Awesome, nikkas had it stuck it in their head shyt was gonna be trash the rest of the way, and never gave it a fair shake

i fuk with 12 outta of the 15...overall a good effort

The general consensus is that this is by far one of the weakest TDE albums... no lie. a tde album has never been received that badly

Weaker than "Follow Me Home"? :comeon:

I believe people are either unfamiliar with Schoolboy Q and assumed it'll be another GKMC kind of album, or over-hyped themselves with assumption that this album supposed to cure cancer or some sh*t. I've seen this scenario way too many times. This even happened to Doggystyle 20 years ago. The general consensus THEN was that it was a disappointment, because everyone was overhyped that it'll be another Chronic album. Let this album BREATHE first. The album is dope as fucck if you stop trying to compare to previous albums. Just smoke somethin' or drink somethin' and vibe the hell out.
