it's better than GKMC. People saying it isnt GKMC are talking about the make up of the album...the concept. They're two very diff rappers. Saying you expect a GKMC from Schoolboy Q is like expecting an Aquemini from Three Six Mafia

Okay after listening to it more, it's growing on me but still pretty average.

Personally, I think the hype around this album with all the pushbacks, snippets, singles and then Q comparing it to GKMC and calling it a classic is what ruined it for me and made me not enjoy it and even though I was pretty indifferent towards the singles, I was hoping the remaining tracks would be a lot better but most of them arent.

Its partially my fault, I suppose. But it didn't live up to the hype Q and Interscope created amongst the fanbase, imo.

and I like Q, I really enjoy Setbacks and HnC and I know what kinda rapper he is and what to expect from him so it isn't that, but I feel this was a pretty mehh debut album effort.

I think Isiah Rashad has the best chance at releasing something similar to GKMC out of all of them to be honest. I agree, this Schoolboy joint going on the phone for the gym for sure.

Just off the first listen, the album is okay... Not great, not bad. Of course it's not on GKMC's level but there's some decent tracks on here.

The only thing I don't like about this album or just albums in general these days...is how many songs they purposefully leak before hand.

This album is sequenced very well and the tracks really build on each other but the problem is, a 1/4th of the album has already been out and has been consumed. That hurts the overall big picture in my opinion.

I know labels are anxious for a single to crack but they gotta ease up, leak a single, 2 at the most 2 months (MAX) before the release and just let it cook from there.

would anyone get hype of what an artist say about their album.
Only played thru the album once and ofc ourse is not near the same level as GKMC, cuz Q is not on the same level as Kendrick lyrically.
With that said the album got some bangers and will get play for pre parties and whip.
