As a regular croc wearerer I constantly see young bucks wearing crocs waaay too big. Can definitely see this being the reason. They are still shoes in the end. Wearing any shoe way too oversized is going to those your equilibrium off.

I wear them sometimes and everytime I "tripped" it's because I didn't have them in sport mode. Your foot might slide out some without the strap being down.

The bottoms on the regular models don't have traction but you won't trip because of that. I only notice that if I'm pushing something heavy and my feet will slide.

The soles on my work pair haven't worn down at all and they're like two years old. Concrete might do that though.
