The same thing with having 'White' people in the government.

Elitists neither comprehend nor empathize with their constituencies' actual needs.
Nice little red herring......:stopitslime:

We're not really discussing 'politics' per se. We're discussing the scientists' ability to actually comprehend their constituencies' needs.

Is a Ph.D. in physics better able to comprehend them than an Associate?
Many scientist have spent the majority of their lives broke and battling against school debt. Even after finishing many find themselves working service industry and other part time jobs until they find themselves a position that allows them the freedom to work one job or they've paid down there debt.

Most scientist have more in common with the common man than you think.

This is the truth right here. Interesting that people would see a scientist as an elite but not Trump or some former corporate lawyer. Everyone I was in grad school with was skruggling and maintaining. I remember my dude Mike was living off that rice cooker with two PhDs in Math and Computer Science. My favorite professors were a high school teacher and worked in a nursing home respectively. If any of those people were elected officials, I would know they would go through a process of figuring out the best solutions instead of just knowing it all.

That's not the issue. The issue is that they are no more able to comprehend the needs of their constituencies because they are scientists. That seems to be missed in all this banter. Stating that they have things in common with 'the common' man is just what I meant about 'elitists'. ALL people are 'common'.

These people are so fukking stupid they do not realize their future is doomed because they keep going in the same circles over and over believing these politicians lies...
They chose to relinquish it to god fearing folks who you would like to have a beer with.

the problem is there is no consensus on what is best for an individual.
