Nah, you can go if you want. Its just expensive. The limitation is on world governments setting up shop, not individual people. In fact there are weekly trips out there from Argentina and chile. There are also all sorts of non-scientific jobs like computer programers, IT workers, fitness instructors, food service, fisheries, doctors, winter athletes , etc. on that continent.

Its actually on my list of places i wanna go. But i just cant rationalize throwing $20k at a 2 week trip in an icebox. I mean it's currently summer out there and their hight temp is only 34 °

I have been kicking around a story in my mind for years about what would happen if aliens from an earth like planet showed up and they were all very dark skinned, like 2 shades darker than Wesley snipes and they gave black people the option to bounce from earth and have dominion over a mini planet of our own.

How many people would join the aliens and how many would stay behind, and how would the people who stayed behind be treated
