Yes if he would've dropped Safe & Sound before The Chronic.
Because his first albums as dope as they are (yes specially Way 2 Fonky), didn't break ground musically nor the flows were as dope the way the Chronic did and have.
When Safe & Sound came out it was as dope as the Chronic and Doggystyle and in some ppls opinions it is and it's a good argument, but it took Dre droppin his album for Quik to become and dope as he did.
It's the type of thing a radio host can put on a segment for shock value, it invokes the type of reaction that a New Englander feels when someone says "Is it time to replace Brad"y . . *listener in the car during morning commute is belligerent yelling at the radio . . ready to call in * . . but it still has merit
For a second I thought he was going to say DJ Quik has more skill with originals and Dr. Dre has made a career off of remakes
Quik hasn't made bigger hits than NWAs first album..or had an impact like NWA had..he was never provocative enough..just the image of NWA with the raiders caps and starters jackets alone..then after NWA Dre was churning out the chronic and doggystyle..what was Quik doing? Making a mediocre album like safe n sound I think around that time,.fast forward to the chronic 2001.. Dre dropped heat on that album..Quik had rythmlism..and hell no that album isn't fukking with chronic 2001..Quik is good...he can make smooth LA beats better than anyone else..but Dre knows how to make bangers and classics with classic verses
