Dude was a beast. I remember we could only get Japanese wrestling here and Flash Norton was one of my favorites.

Y'all gotta be DUMB young to think Scott Norton wasn't that dude

If that's true, then shyt, I guess everybody was "that dude" at some point.

Barry Darsow was that dude when he was Repo Man.

Jim Neidhart was that dude when he wore the Hammer pants.

Renegade was that dude when he came out as Hogan's "Ultimate Surprise".

Norton was a good wrestler, and an IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

You're way off base.

Those matches with Fire and Ice against The Steiners were the shyt. He was one of the only guys who could hit the Steiners as hard as they hit.

The team with Bagwell was dope too it was a great mix of the big strong guy and the cocky dude. He also wrecked shyt in Japan for years, WCW had guys like Nagata and Kurasawa and just threw them wherever on the card so don't be fooled by Norton getting lost in the shuffle.

I found out he wrestled in Japan when I got older, but never bothered to check for his stuff. I rocked with him in WCW though. From when he was teamin' with Ice Train all the way up to Vicious and Delicious with Bagwell. I thought he was cool :yeshrug:

:deadrose: @ no one givin' a shyt when he turned on Ice Train back day.

First off, did you really just compare Smash and Jim Neidhart, two guys who were half of the best tag teams ever in the WWF to Renegade?

And Scott Norton is a former IWGP championship. If you don't know you're history that's fine, but you look ignorant acting like Scott Norton held no importance. You don't have to be a fan of dude, but he was a big deal at one point, whether you care or not is irrelevant.

I actually do know about the IWGP run... but Norton was never "that dude" and honestly, IWGP wasn't airing on any station I knew of on TV. So pretty much, by and large, he was someone who was dope in Japan and did jackshyt here... which puts him in the same category as Johnny Ace. Let's not act like he was a Vader, Gordy, Williams, Bigelow type that was beastin' no matter where he went.

And no, I didn't put Jim Neidhart and Smash, the halves of two great tag teams, in the same realm as Renegade. I put a post-HF unover singles-wrestling Jim Neidhart and a post-Demos goofy-gimmick-having Darsow with Renegade.

Nah breh you misunderstood. No one said he beasted everywhere. they said he was that dude in Japan and WCW never used him right. When he won the IWGP title though you HAD to be legit. That main event scene over there wasnt easy at the time. He put in work and it largely goes unnoticed. So in this thread we give him props. :yeshrug:
