The guy is not really talking to "18 year old reality show" fans...he is talking to the media outlets (like Nancy Grace) who should know who Lamar Odom is but they still refer to him as a "Reality Show" extra. (they should know because its their responsibility to research)

Calm down, and look at what I said.

Lamar Odom was before LeBron. We had big expectations for Lamar.
We thought he was "the Next Magic Johnson" before we knew of Bron -
big, athletic, great passer who would be next. He was the high school phenom on the cover of Slam and all that chit.

:pachaha:nikka please. Lamar was just as much to be the next Magic as Shawn Livingston. Lebron was touted as GOAT potential in H.S. no one EVER thought this Freddy Kreuger looking nikka would have that potential. :heh:

:salute: to Van Pelt. However, ESPN has also referred to Odom as a reality television "star" alongside being a former NBA star. That is what struck me the most. ESPN is truly becoming TMZ and this tragedy has made it very clear to me.

Fukked up thing is Kanye is next. Those Kardashians are undefeated when it comes to ruining the men they're married to.

I feel what Van Pelt is saying BUT these TMZ loving- non sports watching types whether young or old just don't know about his NBA career. Whats the term - "you don't know what you don't know". How many times have you met a chick who only watches reality tv mixed in with some Empire and Scandal. That's all day long. Its a waste of time to get upset at something like this

Nancy Grace's audience ain't the Kardashian's audience though. He's not speaking to teenagers or vapid idiots. He's speaking to a supposed "journalist" who's gotten it wrong and is throwing Lamar in the Kardashian camp for the same reasons the Kardashians are at the hospital aka attention.

What the fukk are you trying to say? In no aspect is Odom comparable to LeBron in what they do. :mindblown:
Lamar Odom was 6'10" and could play all 5 positions. He played point in college.

He wasnt Lebron athletically, but he was Lebron-like in his skillset. If you were old enough, you would know this. Dude had the potential to be one of the 5 best players in the NBA.

You're getting it crossed up.

Lamar was getting hyped before the world even knew who LeBron James was. So i'm not comparing their potential,
i'm comparing their hype. Again, calm down.

nikka we all know LO has a versatile skillset. I bet you one of those nikkas who though Rasheed had GOAT potential as well. :skip:

A lot of players get absurd comparisons, but still Lebron's hype was waay bigger than Lamar.

Just finding it very disrespectful the comparison to Lebron...maybe I'm in my feelings. :jbhmm:Watching Lebron I knew the nikkas was going to be nice...Lamar was a coin toss like watching Carmelo early in his career. :patrice:

The one year Lamar played at Rhode Island, they were consistently on TV. That hasn't happened before or after Lamar. He was no fluke and deserved every bit of hype he got. You either didn't witness that or are just being a contrary ass knee grow.

Plus, if not for Rhode Island being on TV, we wouldn't have seen one of the best guard duos ever assembled in Tyson Wheeler and Cuttino Mobley :ohlawd:

Hol' up...that Rhode Island squad actually was laced for a couple years after Lamar with Reynolds-Dean, Preston Murphy, etc.

More people know Lamar Odom as Khloe husband than they do as a basketball player :manny:
It sucks, it's unfair to him, it's dirty to call him a Kardashian reality star but that's gonna get more clicks, views. And interest. And that's all they care about.
But he's right.

Nancy Grace's show is a joke though. Nobody takes her serious. She's fishing for hits and staying relevant in the news landscape. The only way she would mention Lamar Odom on her show is by his association with the Kardashians. You guys actually want her to show some actual basketball knowledge or something.. like recite his ppg when he was on the Clipps or Lakers:what: Even her fans would look at her like :childplease:"b*tch stick to the Kardashian angle, talking actual basketball is the last thing we need to hear from you". Sad to say- that's what type of show she has.

Plus to be fair, Lamar signed up for that sh*t once he got her :yeshrug:
