scottie was only good defensively in the dober d offense because he was anchored by michael jordan. where he was to herd the other team's five or six inch smaller point guard ball carrier to jordan's defensive effort.

when he lead the league in steals. he was getting bodied by the likes of grant hill a rookie. where it looked like he was in slo mo.

to put in perspective jordan as dpoy versus scottie's campaign to say he was robbed of a dpoy.

Honestly he shoulda got it in 96 over the Glove. A team winning 72 games should have swept all the individual awards within their grasp. Mike MVP, Phil COTY, Kukoc 6MOTY and Scottie DPOTY. DPOTY was actually the only award that team didn't get that season which they probably didn't give to Scottie because he also played with Jordan and Rodman (who the media damn near was just as obsessed with as Jordan at that time).
