Dude was getting repeated powerups after Madara appeared. The writer painted himself into a corner. Madara was so far ahead of the curve the writer had to catch Naruto and Sasuke up with him and Hokages. Went from 50-150 real quick. In the span of a day, dude had the whole 9 Tails, pieces of the rest of the tailed beasts, figured out how to use Sage Mode in all forms, and got the Six Paths power up. By the fight with Kaguya he was flying, bringing people back to life and restoring body parts.
I think there must have been a deal on place to end right at 500. It made no sense. They could have cut a lot of shyt out and went straight to him and Emo boy meeting Hagoromo. All that shyt where Kurama had to want to be in sage mode was so fukkin' stupid.

They ruined the whole point of the series when Naruto was revealed to be a child of destiny, etc... All that did was prove Neji right about destiny, fate, etc.
To be fair though, Naruto got that W in the end by wifing Hinata and becoming the Hokage (which is exactly what he set out to do).

I'm at work looking at the Itachi/Emo Boy fight. Its clear that Itachi was levels above him but you could also tell that Itachi was tired of fighting and was clearly haunted for what he had done.such a random thread bump

Kishimoto has so many writers now the shyt is ridiculous.
Only thing I've enjoyed about the team of writers in Boruto is that they havent stuck on one arc too long.

I will stand by the fact that Sasuke didn't betray anyone but himself and that's why he left. If anything, the village betrayed him with the whole Itachi thing. Thats why he wanted to burn that muthafukka down as a whole after he found out. That nikka wasn't thinking at all about no Leaf village before the revelation of them executing his clan and using his brother's patriotism to do it.

TBH i hate the fact that Naurto became Hokage. Despise it actually.
The whole reason Naruto wanted to be Hokage was, in his mind, becoming Hokage was greatest way to justify his existence. Growing up the hated child of the village he thought he would need a way to prove his worth as a person to the others. If he became Hokage? Nobody could tell him shyt ever again.
Of course, through the series run we see that Naruto realizes that all the fluffy bullshyt like having friends and protecting them and blah blah is more important than any achievement or title. We see this point hammered home several times.
Not to mention the other underrated theme of the series is that war sucks, takes children from parents, and forces leaders to have to make questionable morality decisions.
With all that said, I think the end of the series woulda been perfect had Naruto become a Jiraiya like wandering teacher, taking war orphans in and showing them love, and not Hokage. I think that is a more fitting and relevant end for the series.
