And okay. If they have to shower with gay guys, then they should have to shower with women too.

If you want this thing to be all inclusive, then make it all inclusive.

1. Keeping it to themselves? How do you know players aren't aware of their non-straight teammates?

2. You said the problem with having gay men shower with straight men is that they could "possibly be attracted to each other, and it opens the door for harassment, indecent public behavior and just a bunch of other stuff."

But if gay and bisexual men have already been showering with straight men, and there haven't been any of the issues you named, why would Michael Sam be any different? Him going public with his sexual orientation somehow makes him more prone to predatory behavior and less inclined to be a disciplined professional?

I mean, really? Why is it that gay atheletes, Michael Sams, Jason Colins, feel the need to be congratulated on who they're sleeping with?

Ironically, threads like this contribute to why an athlete coming out is such a big deal, tbh. Gay athletes help combat oppressive, socially constructed standards of behavior we have in our culture regarding sexual orientation. As long as there are people who think gay people can't shower with straight people without sexual harassing them, there will be an outpouring of support whenever someone comes out of the closet

And then when you run across someone that doesn't agree with it, they have to be forced to apologize and shuck and jive and talk about how "they didn't mean it" and give a million dollars to lgbt organizations.
